겸손, 존중 85) The 6th Patriarch Sutra - 20240224

항상 겸손하세요. 이는 자신을 아래에 두는 것을 의미합니다. 자신을 누구보다 우선시하지 마세요. 그리고 존중을 널리 수행하세요. 그러면 장애 없이 자신의 본성을 꿰뚫어 볼 수 있습니다. 이것은 매우 중요한 조언입니다. 항상 끊이없이 당신이 다른 사람보다 아래에 있을 때  이를 겸손이라고 합니다. 자신을 그들 아래에 두십시오. 절대 누구보다 위에 있지 않습니다. 왜냐하면 당신은 아래에 있기 때문입니다. 그것이 존경심을 수행하는 이유입니다. 당신은 모든 사람을 존경합니다. 그들이 아무리 열등해도, 여전히 그들을 존경합니다. 그러면 자신의 본성을 꿰뚫을 수 있습니다.  당신이 스스로를 더 낫다고 생각하고 다른 사람들을 존중하지 않기 때문에, 자신의 본성을 볼 수 없는 것입니다. 이것은 당신이 이해할 수 있는 것이 아닙니다. 이것은 당신이 해야 할 것입니다. 이것은 장애 없이 자신의 본성을 꿰뚫을 수 있는 방법입니다. 충분히 겸손하지 않고 충분히 존중하지 않을 때 자신을 장애합니다. 당신은 이해할 필요가 없습니다. 단지 그렇게 하고 나세요. 그러면 볼 것입니다.

Always be humble. Meaning that put yourself below. Don't put yourself above anyone. And widely practice respectfulness. That will enable you to see through to your self nature without any obstruction. This is a very important insider's tip. Meaning that when you put yourself below others, always constantly, that's what he called by humble. Actually, put yourself below them, never above anyone. Because you are below. That's why you practice respectfulness. You respect everyone. No matter how inferior they are, you still respect them. Then you're able to see through your self nature. What it means is that because you think yourself is better and that you are not respectful to others, that's why you cannot see your self nature. It's not for you to understand. It's for you to do. That's how you can see through to your self nature with fewer obstructions. You're obstructing yourself when you're not humble enough and you are not respectful enough. That's the teaching. You don't need to understand. Just do it and then you see.
