공양을 받는 자세

우리가 승가라고 지칭할 때 승가는 시방에 상주하는 승가를 의미합니다. 온 우주의 스님들, 현자들을 지칭합니다. 일반 스님들은 현자들을 대표합니다. 그래서 절에 공양을 올릴 때 우리는 그것을 개인적으로 올리는 공양이라고 보지 않습니다. 우리는 그것을 깨달은 존재들을 대표해서 받아들입니다. 우리가 그렇게 할 때 여러분의 복은 무한합니다. 그렇게 하지 않으면 여러분과 우리의 복은 훨씬 적습니다. 그래서 대승 수행으로 인한 복은 소승보다 훨씬 더 큽니다.  

 

When you make an offering to the temple we don't look at it as offering to to us personally. We are trained to understand, at least these people who are trained to understand that we only accept them on behalf of these enlightened beings. That's why your blessings when we do that your blessings are Limitless. If we don't do that, your blessings are much less and ours too will be much less. Is that clear? This is why the blessings from Mahayana practice, the same monks Mahayana versus Hinayana, our blessings are much more for that reason.
